Made in collaboration with Bernadette Robancho, we were tasked with creating designs for a fictional year end show for the Sacramento State Design Department. The parameters for the event were fitting a large amount of student work in a small gallery while maintaining safety standards during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A large part of our gallery experience was built around an app which would use augmented reality to save space and still show all of the student work. The gallery was small enough that we could only allow each student to show a single piece of their work. The app would do the heavy lifting. Similar to a QR code, the app allowed attendees to point their phone camera at a student’s work. Tapping the student’s work would bring up their profile within the app. The app also featured the option to browse each student’s work manually as well as save favorites.
I will show my highlights here but the entire case study can be found here.
