The playing cards are an abstract interpretation of medieval tools and aesthetics. The traditional card suits were replaced with an auger, clever, hammer and scythe. The face cards were given an ominous look. The idea was to have them look more alien in relation to the people that would’ve been using tools like the suits.
The cards began as illustrations and sketches. Those sketches were brought into Illustrator and refined. Finally, SVG files were taken over to Blender where the elements could be arranged and lit in a 3D space. The goal of their placement was to give each card a unique feeling while having them all work as a whole.
