The cover was created to help promote the release of a digital music score. The score was paired with a 1940’s PSA entitled “The Enemy Bacteria.” The score itself was made with synthesizers so when exploring ideas, I tried to work digitally as well. I tried a few different variations including some which used imagery from the PSA itself. In the end, I decided on using DNA as the imagery given its importance in relation to biology and bacteria.
The score had a very grungy tone so the words comprising the DNA were smeared. This also works with the PSA’s visuals which consist of cartoon bacteria making a mess inside of a patient in a hospital.
